Becoming A Member


You must be a VP, SVP or C-Level executive with at least 5 years of experience at the VP level or higher.

Here’s How We Work For And With You:

We promote, advocate for, and support you. We start by pairing you with an executive woman who will serve as your mentor. Together, you will review your professional goals and plan your Athena Journey. Based on this conversation, we will work with you on a tailored journey that leverages a mix of the following services:

  • White-glove match-making*
  • Articulation of your unique value proposition, so that you can clearly and confidently communicate your experience to a board
  • Editorial support and refinement of your board bio, elevator pitch, and online presence
  • Personal brand development on your behalf (securing speaking engagements, PR, awards, and recognition)
  • 1:1 mock board interview
  • 1:1 mentoring from an executive mentor
  • 1:1 sessions with Athena’s Executive and Board Coach Partners (2 hours free with membership) – Branding, PR, Voice, Impact and Presentation
  • Targeted networking and Birds of a Feather Groups (peer networking groups)
  • Board / board readiness resources (curated and discounted)
  • Athena signature events (4 – 5 per year)
  • A comprehensive, online portal where you can apply for board opportunities, network with other Athena women, and review your progress.

Membership Fees:

Membership fees are a blend of packaged and a la carte services, delivered at a pace that serves you, but front-loaded to fast track you to success. Please apply to speak directly with a member of our Leadership Team about Athena’s fit for you, and the best way to leverage our programs.

Of highest importance to The Athena Alliance is our mission. While our members have the exclusive opportunity to apply directly for the board openings we support, we also tap the Athena community network for referrals. Our intent is to ensure we put forward the right women for each role and that we are successful in creating a match. When Athena introduces a woman who is subsequently invited to join the board, we ask the board for a suggested donation of $3,000 for a private board, and $10,000 for a public board. If the Athena woman put forward is not an Athena member, we request she consider the same donation.

* Our work towards a match will be based on each woman’s unique qualifications for the board opportunities we support. Our goal is to ensure you are well prepared to land the role should you be tapped for consideration, but we can not guarantee a match.
